Boston Cares Volunteer Day with Shire

On Friday, October 2 Farrington Nature Linc took part in Boston Cares Fall Volunteer Day. We were lucky to be assigned to the company Shire frpm Lexington. Shire showed up at 9:30am with a bus load of 30 employees willing to help us with some projects around the property.

Volunteers built and painted new picnic tables for summer time lunches, dragged dead wood out of our spruce forest, helped us reclaim some land behind the barn that had been overtaken with brushy undergrowth and finally, they helped us remove foliage off the front of Farrington Hall.

It was amazing to see what they could accomplish in a few short hours! We are very grateful to both Boston Cares and Shire for their time and support!
