Position: Communications and Social Media Manager (Part-Time, 6-15 hours/week)
Reporting to: Executive Director

Position Overview: The Social Media Manager will provide critical marketing and fundraising support for Farrington Nature Linc (FNL) through creating and implementing a comprehensive communication plan. We are looking for a mission-focused, highly organized, detail-oriented, seasoned, team member with experience in communications, social media, and nonprofit fundraising and marketing. This person should have great people skills, strategic communications experience, and the ability to deliver creative, on brand, measurable, cost-effective results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Communications Management
Collaborate with the Executive Director (ED) and Development Manager to create and implement a strategic communications plan (designed to engage and build our list) that involves all our social media channels.
Work closely with the ED in developing themes, design, and messaging for all communications.
Develop and maintain organization wide communications/social media/marketing content calendar
Create plan for marketing nontraditional revenue streams (homeschool pods, birthday parties, event rentals)
Manage all event publicity (online, social media, local) to drive ticket purchases and to support org list-building initiatives.
Implement communications plan via all social media locations and email marketing tools.
Content Creation and Graphic Design
Develop informative and persuasive content that supports the strategic objectives of the organization: newsletters, social media posts, advertisements, email newsletters and web content.
Create graphics, layout and design, write, edit, and prepare materials for print production or online use
Work with staff to source content to use to produce multimedia (print, audio, and video) stories that engage our community for awareness and fundraising
REQUIREMENTS
Experience
3+ years in marketing, fundraising or events work
High proficiency in Canva, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, email management programs, social media platforms and Squarespace for website management
Excellent Skills
The ability to conceptualize major projects, coordinate detailed plans, solve problems, and follow through to meet deadlines
Ability to manage several project workflows with shifting attention from one project to another
The ability to communicate clearly, effectively and kindly with diverse constituencies, be self-motivated, and work independently
Ability to create new visual content that matches our brand
Attitude
Professionalism with discretion in managing confidential information
Maturity, humility, excellent work ethic, enthusiasm, positivity, “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude, and sense of humor

SALARY RANGE AND BENEFITS
$28-32/hour depending on skill set. Sick time accrual of 40 hours a year based on time worked.
