The Resource Manager will provide critical administrative and fundraising support for Farrington Nature Linc (FNL). We are looking for a mission-focused, highly organized, detail-oriented, seasoned, process-minded team member with experience in facilities management, database management, bookkeeping, and administration. This person should have great people skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to deliver measurable, cost-effective results.

Established in the early 1900’s, our mission is to enhance the well-being of children from low-income communities through a connection with the natural world. Our 75 acres of woodlands, fields and ponds near Boston are dedicated to providing respite and inspiration for children who might not otherwise have this opportunity. We envision a world in which every child has access to nature; every child learns that nature is a powerful source of health and happiness; and every child believes that stewardship of nature strengthens communities.

Position: Resource Manager
Reporting to: Executive Director
Start Date: June 1, 2018
Hours: 20/week

RESPONSIBILITIES

Office Management (45%)
Order and maintain supplies and equipment (including printer/copier, square reader, laptops, program supplies)
Manage paper and electronic files
Maintain files for programs, volunteers, invoices, events, contracts
Follow procedures for retention, protection, retrieval, transfer, disposal of files
Process all mail
Incoming mail (log checks, make bank deposits)
Outgoing mail (small- and large-scale appeals, postage)
Manage bookkeeping and payroll
Accounts receivable and payable documentation
Prepare checks for signing
Enter all data into QuickBooks
Manage monthly payroll
With ED and Treasurer, manage general ledger and tax forms
Run monthly, quarterly, and annual balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement for ED and Board meetings
Troubleshoot occasional IT issues for a small staff (PC and Mac)

Donation Management (45%)
Manage donor database (Little Green Light)
Gift and donor entries
Build custom reports
Mailing templates and tracking
Manage online communication with ED
MailChimp emails, database updates, and templates
Email and website newsletters, organization updates, reminders
Social media updates on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
Process donations
Deposit checks
Track online giving platforms (Stripe, Eventbrite, Square)
Prepare and mail acknowledgement letters to donors
Assist with special events
Vendor communications
Invoicing/payment
Promotional materials
Staff and volunteer coordination
Ticket sales
Event publicity (online, social media, local)
Provide assistance with fundraising and development
Sponsorship research, cultivation, and solicitation
Grant research, writing, and support

Program Management (10%)
Assist with program bookings
Procurement of contracts and certificates of insurance
Invoicing/payment
Confirmation calls for booking
Manage paper and electronic documents related to program booking
Order supplies for programs
Driving youth staff from Alewife to Farrington on occasion

REQUIREMENTS

High Proficiency
High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive, fundraising databases, email management programs, Mac and PC software, experience with QuickBooks or other bookkeeping software, Eventbrite, MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

Excellent Skills
Computer maintenance
Organization, detail-oriented work, problem solving

Communication and customer service (verbal and written skills)
Handling a high volume of work and delivering high-quality results in an efficient manner

Experience
3+ years in office administration
Financial and organizational management in nonprofits

Professionalism with discretion in managing confidential information
Maturity, humility, excellent work ethic, enthusiasm, positivity, “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude, and sense of humor
Comfortable working in a small, shared office space

Other
Ability to lift/move objects weighing up to 30 pounds several feet
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and ability to direct others in appropriately responding to emergencies
Physical ability to negotiate hilly terrain, dirt roads and dirt, and gravel trails, and to respond quickly to situations requiring immediate action
Valid driver’s license, personal automobile insurance, safe driving record, and daily access to a car

Applicants must agree to a CORI check as part of the job screening, but evidence of a criminal record is not necessarily an impediment to hiring. A copy of our CORI policy is available on request.
