Second Annual CADC week long a success!
On August 6th-10th, Farrington NatureLinc and Cambridge Adventure Day Camp ran our second annual nature camp out at Farrington. The weeklong camp was an opportunity for 30 Cambridge youth to come out and spend each day at Farrington and get to know the property, the animals, and the staff in a deeper way. Throughout the week, the campers participated in animal chores, harvested their own vegetables, searched for frogs and turtles in the pond, hiked on almost every trail on the properties, played games, and made nature journals, animal masks, mosaics, and block printed fabric. In addition, on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, the campers got to choose their own electives. Based on their own interested, the campers chose to fill their afternoon with everything from fort building, bubble blowing, basketball, garden work, animal explorations, bird watching, and more craft activities.
The week was a great chance for our staff to try out some new activities we’ve been looking to try out all summer, and to take what we do on a daily basis to a new level. We look forward to having the CADC group out next summer.
