Farrington is looking to hire After School Educators!

The Explore Coordinator position is 17.5-22.5 hours per week from mid September 2018 to mid June 2019, with possibility for continuation during Summer 2019.
Primarily, the Explore Coordinator’s time will be spent preparing for and implementing programming that takes place on weekday afternoons at various locations around Greater Boston. They will also spend time at our office in Lincoln, MA. Some work can be completed remotely. The Explore Coordinator may occasionally support Experience (single-visit) programs and Community Programs on our site on weekdays and weekends.
The ideal candidate has availability to lead programming on at least 3-5 afternoons per week on a regular basis. Scheduling and hours will be determined by the Program Director based on partnership development and program needs.
Regular access to a car is required.Mileage is reimbursed and travel time to partner sites is paid.
Farrington’s Explore Club after school programs run 1-1.5 hours with elementary-aged students, utilizing green spaces near the schools or community centers that students attend, to build connection with the natural world. Each cycle runs approximately 8-11 weeks, with some Clubs operating throughout the full school year across 2-3 cycles. Clubs use a theme based on natural subject areas relevant to the time of year and the location in which the club runs. Clubs take place at and near Partners’ sites in Cambridge and surrounding communities. On occasion, Explore Club programming may take place on Farrington’s site in Lincoln.
