Ever wondered what a birthday party at Nature Linc is like? Picture this: It’s two in the afternoon, and the birthday girl is dressed in her fairy best. She flits eagerly around the picnic tables, helping the adults set up party favors, checking out the craft materials, and eagerly watching the driveway. “Someone’s here!” she exclaims as the first car pulls onto the property. She runs to greet her first guest, a friend from her class. In a few minutes, 13 of her friends will be excitedly running around outside playing tag as their parents mix and mingle by the snack tables. 

After most of the guests arrive, a Nature Linc staff donning the signature blue t-shirt calls for everyone’s attention: “Let’s give a round of applause for our birthday girl, who’s turning seven!” (the little girl beams). Over the next hour and a half, the staff member leads a series of fun outdoor activities: a craft in which all the kids make magic nature wands to bring home, a gem hunt on one of the many beautiful hiking trails on site, and finally, s’more-making around a crackling campfire. At the end, the guests are given 45 minutes at the end to mix and mingle, have pizza, sing happy birthday around a cake, and catch up as kids run around exploring the natural beauty.

This is a typical example of one of our fabulous nature birthday parties, and there are so many more fun activities on offer in every season: making homemade apple cider with our 100-year old cider press, building forts in the pine forest, and sledding, to name a few. Some parties have a theme: fairies, animals, and survival skills, or staff’s recommendations. So many kids leave declaring it was the “best birthday ever.”
